There are several ways for you to answer to this question. Either you’re a kid who is tired of games or you’ve just realized that you can learn programming. Whatever your situation, here is my suggestion. What should you consider to learn it? There are several criteria by which to guide you in the language you choose to stop.
What you love. The language of a program is like a piece of furniture: Once you choose it, you must handle it. So you will not choose a programming language and after that say “God that’s horrible. Why haven’t I listened to my friend?”.
To choose the language that suits you, you will have to try them all, even for a short period. That’s the advantage over furniture, which you do not need to carry it down the stairs, only to close the application and open another. The bad news is that installing the programming language in your brain is just as diffiocult as installing a piece of furniture in your room, if not more difficult. The effort isn’t done with your biceps, but with the help of your neurons.
Once you learn to install the first wardrobe the closets you buy after that seem easier to install. As with programming languages, after learning one, the following are more easily learned. I advise you to try as many different programming languages and learn everything you can from them. I, for example, I learned PHP and I thought one time that I cannot teach another (at a professional level). However, the other day I read a book on Java and I realized that it’s easier than I thought. What is required to learn a programming language?
Unfortunately some languages like Pascal / Delphi can be very easy to learn but very difficult to use in larger projects or for finding a job. Speaking about a job, here is a great way to get an idea of what are the most important job posts considering programming languages. You enter your online jobs portal and simply look for a specific job related to a programming language. Statistical results indicate approximately the number of jobs related to that language. I did a quick search and here are the results (without filtering the city): PHP is most eligible language to learn, because you get the most chances to get hired by someone. Next is ASP and ActionScript. Java however, is searched by less employers, but better paid.
You must take into account that it is possible that some less popular languages are better paid. Here it also should be noted that the claims related to a particular language are higher than related to others. For example C # or C may be used for very large applications that need experience.
What you must do? Different areas are good for different languages. PHP is made for web applications. C and C # for desktop applications. It matters a great deal in what field you want to get involved. Not in vain the teachers at the untiversity ask you if you want to develop Web applications or to turn to desktop apps. But from where to learn? That’s not a selection criterion, but it should be noted. Thank God there is the Internet and it’s full of materials. And I think the number of materials is directly proportional to the popularity and ease of that language.
Materials for PHP I found almost everywhere. However C # is very hard to find on the Internet, maybe because search engines are “scared” when they see it # and ignore it and “C-Sharp” is even more neglected. Luckily, in my next articles, I will present a little bit about some of the most important programming languages and if you will keep on reading us, you will learn probably than you would normally do, by attending some IT classes. And the most important thing, here everything is free, you don’t need to pay to read this. Except for the Internet supplier of course. If you want a diploma, you should definitely address to some specialized courses.11
